Key takeaway

Dealers offer a pump operating solution, not just a timer. Establish the customer’s need, explain functions, match the load and have an installer set up and verify operation on site.

For Indonesian pump shops, irrigation suppliers and installers, customers repeatedly visiting a pump house, needing scheduled water supply or wanting control after leaving the farm are concrete opportunities to discuss an upgrade. HT-2401G combines schedules and cycles, 4G phone operation and switch-state viewing for compatible pumps.

A simple customer explanation is: choose the operating plan, let the controller execute it, and use a phone when adjustments are needed. The installer then checks the pump load, network and control circuit, rather than expecting the customer to wire it or copy another farm’s irrigation duration.

Explain HT-2401G features as practical customer benefits

This is a control accessory, not a pump or only a fixed-time timer. Dealers can use these feature-to-benefit explanations and verify them in a sample demonstration.

Product functionCustomer convenience
4G and HONEST-IOTSwitch by phone away from the site without a handheld remote’s point-to-point range limit
Schedules and cycle tasksExecute switching at saved times or repeating intervals
Switch state and shared accessView the control output and allow authorised staff to operate
Offline schedules while power remainsContinue stored tasks during a network interruption
Optional power-loss memoryRemember the previous switch state and stored timer/cycle tasks for use when power returns
Power-loss SMSReceive notice of a supply interruption so staff can respond

Phone operation requires available network service; an on-site Wi-Fi router is not needed. Switch state does not measure flow. Volume-, level- or pressure-based operation needs suitable additional measurement and control design.

The controller stays on site; operation starts on the phone

1. Start with irrigation demand, not someone else's timetable

Before planning for a customer, the installer should understand the crop and growth stage, soil retention, recent local rainfall and drip, sprinkler or furrow irrigation. Establish water requirements using local agronomic guidance and site conditions; the controller executes the saved plan.

Review fixed schedules regularly. Rainy seasons, crop changes or different irrigation zones can make the old duration unsuitable. A standard timer without soil or rain sensor inputs does not automatically make these adjustments.

2. Estimate runtime using actual flow

The basic relationship is runtime = target water volume ÷ actual average flow. Keep the units consistent. Installed flow depends on head, pipe resistance and valve positions; a pump's advertised maximum flow should not be assumed to be the flow in your system.

This hypothetical example explains the arithmetic, not a prescription for any crop. If the target volume is 3 m³ and measured average flow under those conditions is 6 m³/h, estimated runtime is 3 ÷ 6 = 0.5 hours, or about 30 minutes. A flow of 6 m³/h is also about 100 L/min.

Dealers can use this calculation to explain why different plots require different durations. The installer checks the relevant zone’s flow and delivered result. HT-2401G operates by time; its timer does not imply a flow meter for volume-based stopping.

Hypothetical calculation: 3 ÷ 6 = 0.5 hours, or 30 minutes. This is not a crop recommendation or automatic volume metering.

3. Distinguish fixed schedules from cycle tasks

Fixed schedules suit starting and stopping at particular times. Cycle tasks suit repeating defined running and stopping periods. Choose according to the water delivery process and the pump and motor's operating limits.

Do not increase starts merely to make scheduling look more precise. Permissible starting frequency depends on the motor and starting method. Follow the pump and motor manufacturer's requirements: frequent starts increase heating and switching-device duty.

Five checks before installation handover

First, check the pump and circuit. Prepare the nameplate and electrical information. Have a qualified professional check wiring, contactors and protection. HT-2401G requires an AC contactor for 380V equipment; controller input voltage alone does not determine the load connection.

Second, connect 4G and bind the device. An on-site Wi-Fi router is not required. The controller connects through a compatible 4G network. Register and add the device in HONEST-IOT, then check connectivity at the actual installation position.

Third, choose a clear device name. For example, East Vegetable Plot Pump. Match the app entry to the physical pump. If access is shared, define who can change schedules and who responds to site problems.

Fourth, check local time and create tasks. Indonesia uses WIB, WITA and WIT time zones. Test execution against the installation site's local time. Check start/stop times, repetition and cycle conditions, and remove test tasks that might overlap with the working plan.

Fifth, verify operation on site. With someone observing the pump, test app switching, local buttons and a short test schedule. Confirm the intended equipment, actual water delivery and displayed switch state. Restore the working plan and record settings and responsibilities.

5. Network loss, power loss and memory are different

Network lost, power maintained: HT-2401G can continue previously configured schedules and cycle tasks. New remote commands and settings changes require a restored connection.

Power lost on site: the pump cannot run without power. HT-2401G primarily sends a power-loss SMS to a phone wherever mobile control is supported. Assign someone to respond to the alert.

Power-loss memory can be enabled or disabled: when enabled, it can remember the previous switch state and saved schedules and cycle tasks for use after power returns. This is not a backup power source and does not keep the pump running during an outage.

Select the memory setting to suit site procedures and test the actual response when power returns. Do not assume tasks missed during an outage will automatically be replayed. Discuss any such process requirement with HONEST before use.

6. Timing does not automatically detect water, rain or level

Stopping when a tank is full, or preventing a start when the water source is low, requires suitable sensors and interlocks. Switch state describes the control output; it does not by itself prove actual flow or pipe pressure.

The source, filters, valves, pipes and electrical protection all affect results. Check field water delivery after scheduled operation and revise the plan when weather, crops or system conditions change.

7. Data service and product selection

The overseas HT-2401G includes one year of data service. Customers can renew directly through manufacturer HONEST afterward. Dealers should explain this service arrangement at quotation and handover and supply the country and installation region for the appropriate network version.

For customers only needing a button in the field, compare HT-9220KG’s 1–5 km open-area configurations. For phone management, schedules and cycles, consider HT-2401G. Select the functions, electrical ratings and supporting equipment separately for each model.

HONEST develops, manufactures and sells switches in multiple voltage and power configurations with OEM/ODM support. Pump shops, distributors, equipment suppliers and installers can submit common pump nameplates, sales regions, intended functions and quantities to discuss samples, wholesale purchasing and integration.

Three questions dealers are often asked

Can a phone control a pump where there is no Wi-Fi? Yes. HT-2401G connects through a compatible 4G service and is operated through HONEST-IOT. No Wi-Fi router is required at the pump.

Are loss of internet and loss of power the same for schedules? No. Saved tasks continue offline while power remains available. A power outage stops operation. Power-loss memory can be switched on to preserve the previous state and saved tasks for use after power returns.

Who renews the included data after the first year? The overseas HT-2401G includes one year of data. Customers renew directly with HONEST, and dealers can provide the manufacturer’s contact at handover.
