If you are looking for the price of a mobile starter for a three-phase motor, first compare the same scope. An app-control module, a handheld remote kit and a complete starter panel with a contactor and protection components are different packages.
For Indian pump dealers and installers, the right solution must match the site's 415V supply, motor load, operating method and protection needs. HONEST offers relevant remote-switch configurations for Indian 415V three-phase applications, with handheld RF and 4G app-control options.
1. Choose RF or 4G by the way the customer operates
If the customer works around nearby fields or the pump house and simply wants to press a transmitter button, consider RF control. The HONEST HT-9220KG series offers open-area 1–5 km options according to configuration. Relevant three-phase series/configurations are also available with phase-loss protection.
If the customer needs off-site operation, app output-state display, schedules/cyclic tasks or shared management, consider the HT-2401G 4G solution. It uses HONEST-IOT and needs no site Wi-Fi router. App operation is not limited to a handheld transmitter's point-to-point range. A suitable AC contactor and control circuit are used for the three-phase equipment.
Check phase-loss protection, app features and range for the actual model. A function on one series is not a specification for the whole catalogue.
2. Why check 415V, HP and rated current?
Voltage identifies the supply level; HP or kW states motor output power; rated current is essential for selecting power-circuit components. They describe different requirements and none replaces the others.
As approximate nameplate conversions, 5 HP is about 3.7 kW, 10 HP about 7.5 kW and 20 HP about 15 kW. These are reading aids, not a controller-sizing chart.
Motors with the same power rating may require different contactors, protection or wiring depending on the motor, starting method and duty. A relay marked 30A or 40A is not automatically suitable for directly starting any motor with that nominal current.
Contactor selection must consider the motor duty and starting requirements. Schneider Electric distinguishes resistive-load AC-1 duty from common squirrel-cage motor AC-3 duty. Do not interchange a component's ratings for different load types.
Relevant HONEST three-phase configurations cover pump motors below 22 kW, with phase-loss-protection options. Match the supplied model to the nameplate and duty. This does not mean that the HT-2401G app controller can directly carry a 22 kW motor load.
Three ratings answer three different questions
Match controller, motor circuit and coil separately
5 HP ≈ 3.7 kW; 10 HP ≈ 7.5 kW
Select by starter duty, contactor and protection
3. What does phase-loss protection cover?
Phase-loss protection addresses the relevant missing-phase fault. Overload, short circuit, earth leakage, dry running and other protection depend on the actual product and complete circuit.
“Will it stop if the well runs dry?” is a water/dry-run detection question. “What happens if one phase is lost?” is a phase-loss question. The same function name cannot answer both.
List remote control, motor-starting components and each protection function separately in a quotation. That makes the package easier for the buyer to understand and the installer to verify.
4. Compare these five items in the quotation
First, specify the operating configuration. Name the RF distance option or the exact 4G model, and state whether handheld transmitters are included and in what quantity.
Second, define the motor power circuit. State whether contactors, protection components, enclosure, accessories and cables are included. A bare control module cannot be compared directly with a complete starter panel.
Third, define installation and commissioning. List the circuit changes, retained local controls, app binding and demonstration responsibilities as actual handover items.
Fourth, explain connectivity service. The overseas HT-2401G includes one year of data; renew through HONEST after that period. RF handheld operation does not use this mobile-data service.
Fifth, agree ongoing support. Identify who helps with device names, shared management, schedule changes and fault checks. Clear service scope is more useful than a hardware price without context.
A practical comparison is: installed package cost = controller + necessary panel components/enclosure + installation and commissioning + agreed service items. There is no single India retail price or guaranteed dealer margin in this guide. Price the actual scope of supply and service.

- 02Panel parts & enclosure
- 03Installation & commissioning
- 04Agreed service
5. Schedules and power restoration also affect the choice
A customer needing nearby handheld switching has different requirements from one needing timed irrigation and off-site management. HT-2401G supports scheduled switching and cyclic tasks. Saved tasks can continue through a network outage while the device remains powered.
During a power cut, the pump cannot operate without power. HT-2401G supports power-loss SMS alerts and power-loss memory that can be enabled or disabled. Memory retains the previous switching state and saved schedules/cyclic tasks for use when power returns.
Agree whether memory should be enabled and test the restoration behavior. It is not backup power, a guarantee to make up every lost running minute or an automatic guarantee that a water-volume target will be reached.
6. A pump-shop selection example
Suppose two customers both have pumps marked 10 HP and 415V, but use them differently.
Customer A works on nearby plots and wants to avoid walking back to the starter buttons. Begin with a load-matched RF solution, selecting the distance option and protection required.
Customer B manages several pump locations and needs to operate away from the farm and schedule some duties. Begin with HT-2401G app control and shared management, match each starter circuit and give each device a clear location-based name.
This is a hypothetical needs comparison, not a customer case, wiring instruction or direct 10 HP compatibility promise. Equal HP does not mean the customers need the same package.
7. Common dealer purchasing questions
What range does the handheld remote provide?
The HT-9220KG series offers open-area 1–5 km options by configuration. Select the actual distance option when ordering. Other catalogue models retain their own specifications; do not describe every model as 5 km.
Is phone control also limited to a few kilometres?
No. HT-2401G operates through its matched 4G service rather than a handheld point-to-point link.
Does phase-loss protection remove the need for other protection?
No. Phase loss, overload, short circuit, earth leakage and dry running are different problems. Configure the complete solution for the application.
Can different voltages, powers and branding be supplied?
HONEST combines development, manufacturing and sales, with multiple voltage, power and control configurations and OEM/ODM discussions available. Begin with the motor nameplate, operating conditions and required functions.
Prepare clear packages for the pump models your shop sells
Build a few defined RF, 4G app and protection packages around common pump types. Then select by the customer's operating position and handover requirements rather than explaining the entire catalogue each time.
Send the Indian sales region, 415V pump nameplate, HP or kW, starter photographs, control/range/timing requirements and expected quantity to discuss demonstrations, bulk supply and branding with HONEST.
